Hello!

Greetings to all of Anna's friends and family. Anna is busy reading her English Multicultural Literature assignment so I am guest blogging for her.  Anna "papegoja" Grumstedt has been a delightful addition to our family and we have greatly enjoyed her stay with us.  It is hard to believe she has been in Cheyenne almost two months now.

This past week has been a busy week for Anna.  Thursday night was senior night for the East High Volleyball team.  Before their last home game, all of the senior volleyball players, including Anna, were honored.  We were very proud of her.  She had made a lot of progress.  She has also made a lot of friends playing volleyball.

On Friday, East High School held their homecoming football game.  Unfortunately, that same day Cheyenne was hit with a blizzard.  The game started at 1900 in near white out conditions.  The temperature was about -13 C with blowing snow.  Anna and her volleyball team cheered for the East High football team.  However, the Rock Springs team beat East 20-0.  We were all frozen popsicles when we left the game.

The next day Cheyenne received a heavy snowfall of about 8 inches (20 cm) of snow. We watched the University of Wyoming football team beat the University of New Mexico team on television.  Go Pokes!  Anna was to attend the homecoming dance that night with a group of friends, but the dance was cancelled due to the heavy snow.  Instead Anna went over to the Lees' and watched movies with Ellen and her other friends.

Our neighborhood Columbus Day Weekend Croquet Invitational was set for Sunday.  Despite the 12 inches (30 cm) of snow on the ground, we played Snowquet!  We dug out ball paths for the croquet course and played in the snow.  It was great fun. Anna and her partner, Tom Lee, won their match brilliantly. We built a fire and drank hot cocoa to stay warm. A large number of neighbors showed up to play. We played for a couple of hours and then went inside for dinner.  Hopefully, Anna will post a couple of pictures of the fun in the snow.

Today, Anna will travel to Gering, Nebraska for a volleyball game. Next week, Anna will give a presentation to the Cheyenne Sunrise Rotary Club on Sweden.  We are really looking forward to it.

This is all I have for now.  Hope you enjoyed the guest blog.
